Wisdom from the Proverbs 01

Seize the Moment – Day 153

Wisdom from the Proverbs

A proverb is defined as “a short, well-known saying, stating a general truth or piece of advice”. The writer of Proverbs was King Solomon, known as the wisest of any king who ever reigned on earth. For us to read his words and take his advice would be a wise move on our behalf. Learning from others and their experiences help us in our own lives with decision making so we can keep from making mistakes. So, why not learn from the wise king who received his wisdom from God?

For the next few days, I will be focusing on the Book of Proverbs, sharing some tidbits of wisdom that the Holy Spirit leads me to share.  Please note…there are even more truths and tidbits that are wrapped in these scriptures. So I challenge you to take what I share and use it as a starting spot for the Holy Spirit to reveal even more to you. This will help you grow and know what God wants you to do and carry out in your life.

Proverbs 1:2-6 (ESV):

To know wisdom and instruction,
    to understand words of insight,
 to receive instruction in wise dealing,
    in righteousness, justice, and equity;
 to give prudence to the simple,
    knowledge and discretion to the youth—
 Let the wise hear and increase in learning,
    and the one who understands obtain guidance,
 to understand a proverb and a saying,
    the words of the wise and their riddles.

Seize the moment today to reflect on these scriptures so you can receive wisdom and insight from God today.
